York University's Immigration and Relocation Office consult and guide non-Canadian employees as well as their partners and families on matters related to immigration and relocation processes to facilitate their transition to the University and Canada.  

Whether you are a new or existing employee or a shortlisted candidate within the final stages of the hiring process, we are here to support you.

We help prospective and newly appointed:


Faculty

who are new full-time faculty members (professors and deans), professional librarians (covered by YUFA and OHFA), and senior managerial (CPM) staff who have been offered permanent employment or employment for a term of three years or more.


Postdoctoral Fellows

who have recently completed their doctoral degree and want to gain additional training in a specific area of research for a limited time under the supervision of a faculty member. This includes Postdoctoral visitors.


Visiting Scholars

who are visiting faculty, researchers, or students working at York for a period of no more than two academic years and who retain their position abroad.
